Networking Djursland - a project of DIIRWB containing 16 synergetic IT projects, which is about development of not only the techinal aspects of building a huge network, but also the applications to put in it, - and how to create synergi between institutions, people and businesses on Djursland, in order to develop a rural area making it possible to survive, thus making it a showcase for others to gain knowledge and inspiration:
 
The Computer-Support-Community on Djursland (Computer-Bøvl-miljøet) - Founded in 1992 - has established DIIRWB as a means to run Networking Djursland, and apply the knowledge to the benefit of rural and surburban areas around the World. The Computer-Support-Community also founded DjurslandS.net in 2001.

DjurslandS.net - a huge rural landscape network on Djursland, Denmark. It has (by june 2006) more than 200 nodes, giving internetaccess to about 6000 rural households, -businesses and -institutions. A not-for-profit network build by volunteers since 2001. Founded by The Computer-Support-Community on Djursland (Computer-Bøvl-Miljøet).

Landscapenet.org - a new site from DIIRWB. It will become an international service-platform for the establishing and maintaining of rural wireless landscapenet.

Broadband days (Germany)

One of our german partner in the Baltic Rural Broadband project invited to Internationalen Niedersächsischen Breitbandtage May 22-23 in the City Hall of Osterholz-Scharmbeck.

The broadbanddays was launched under the motto “Connections creates the future”, and was organized by our partner Landkreis Osterholz in cooperation with local industrial organisations and the ministery for enterprise, labour and transport in the NiederSaxon.

The Broadband Days was organized as a series of speaches from public sector representatives as well as from enterprises. Also local broadband-initiatives from the partners were represented, from Djursland represented by Bjarke, Charlotte and Ove. Bjarke presented a speach under the headline “Djursland net - internet as a bottom-up process. Report from a voluntarily organized citizen’s network”.
